The foil heater is made up of a fiber reinforced foil wrapped around a thin multi strand dual core heating cable that is insulated with an advanced fluoropolymer. Carpets are the traditional floor covering for bedrooms and living areas. Neither carpet nor underlay are great conductors of heat so the lower the tog. Carpet is suitable for use with underfloor heating provided that the material of the carpet or underlay does not act as an insulator blocking the heat.

Electric underfloor heating is ideal for carpet as long as the tog values don t. It is perfectly possible to achieve good outputs with underfloor heating and carpet but some key points will need consideration. The total tog of all materials including any under and overlays must not exceed 2 5 tog in order for the system to provide sufficient heat output. The assumption is that because a carpet insulates it will prevent an underfloor heating system from adequately heating a room and while wood engineered floors are all the rage lots of people still like the comfort under their feet that a carpet provides in a bedroom.

The warmup foil heater is an electric underfloor heating system for carpet but also vinyl wood and other floating floor finishes.
